Configure custom fields for items

This topic describes how to configure custom fields for items. You can configure up to three custom text fields (Sub Description 1, Sub Description 2, and Subdescription 3) for items.

You can set up custom text fields for items. These custom fields display on the General tab of the Item record. The default labels are Sub Description 1, Sub Description 2, and Sub Description 3.

Use these custom fields to capture additional information that is not captured in other fields. Custom fields can be a very useful way to build filters to identify items when you are using wizards or generating reports.

1. Click Setup.

2. Expand Miscellaneous.

3. Click Custom Fields.

4. On the Item tab, enter field labels for one or more of the Sub Description fields.

5. Click Save And Close.
