# Restore the connection to the store database

When the technical issue that interrupted the connection to the store database is resolved, close and restart POS to restore the app's connection to the store database. When POS restarts, the cashier or salesperson is prompted to synchronize data from the offline database to the store database. Once the synchronization is complete, POS returns to normal operation.

The synchronization process creates two blind closed batches in Store Manager: one for the batch that was open before the connection to the store database was lost, and one for the batch that was created to record sales transactions while POS was operating in offline mode. Generate the Z Report in Store Manager to close these batches.

{% hint style="info" %}
For Central-enabled stores, run the Sales Consistency Checker for that day to make sure there are no dropped transactions.
{% endhint %}

1. Click **Journal**.
2. Click **Update Batch Info**.
3. From the **Field** drop-down, select **Register Number**.
4. In the **Value** field, enter the register number.
5. Click **OK**.
6. Select a blind closed batch.
7. In the **Generate Report** section of the ribbon, click **Z** to generate the Z Report.
8. Click **Yes** to generate the Z Report and close the batch.
9. (Optional) Click **Yes** to print a receipt.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.rmhpos.com/store-manager/configure-pos-and-store-manager/offline-database/administrator-synchronizing-offline.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
