Setting up registers

You need to identify the POS devices connected to each register. You can use the same settings for every register, or you can use different settings at different registers.

1. Click Setup.
2. Expand Hardware.
3. Click Register List.
4. To add a new register, click New.
5. Use the General tab to enter general information about the register. ClosedSHOW MORE INFO

For example:

  • Register number

  • Default price level

  • POS task pad

  • POS profile

6. Use the Receipt Printer tabs to set up the printer and receipt defaults. ClosedSHOW MORE INFO

  • Printer Type

  • Device Name

  • Receipt Format

7. If an electronic scale is connected to the register, use the Scale tab to set it up. ClosedSHOW MORE INFO

For example:

  • Scale is enabled for this register

  • OPOS device name

  • Time out

  • Maximum scale capacity

  • Asynchronous mode

8. If an electronic scanner is connected to the register, use the Scanner tab to set it up. ClosedSHOW MORE INFO

  • Scanner is enabled for this register

  • OPOS device name

9. If an electronic cash drawer is connected to the register, use the Cash Drawer tabs to set it up. ClosedSHOW MORE INFO

For example:

  • Cash drawer is enabled for this register

  • OPOS device name

  • Wait for drawer close

  • Time out

10. If an electronic pole display is connected to the register, use the Pole Display tab to set it up. ClosedSHOW MORE INFO

  • Pole display is enabled for this register

  • OPOS device name

  • Pole display message

11. If a separate monitor is connected to register to display web pages, item pictures, or receipts to customers, use the Net Display tab to set it up. ClosedSHOW MORE INFO

  • Net display is enabled for this register

  • Net display channel
  • Show receipt on net display

Tip: You must enable the secondary monitor in the computer's Windows display settings and extend the display to the second monitor. Typically, the main POS window will display on the primary monitor and the net display window will display on the secondary monitor. Sometimes the net display window will open behind the main POS window. To change the position of the net display window, log in to POS, drag or resize the main POS window until you can see the net display window, and then click and drag the net display window to the secondary monitor. Double-click the title bar of the net display window to display it at full size in the secondary monitor.

12. To copy an existing register, select it and click Copy. You must enter a unique Register number, but all other values are copied.
13. To edit an existing register, select it and click Edit.
14. Click Save And Close.
