Setting up reason codes

Reason codesClosed A reason code is a pre-defined list of explanations for a specific action, e.g., price correction, cancelled sale, staff discount, etc. identify specific actions performed at the register, e.g., no sales, discounts, or returns. Reason codes are not required, but they are recommended.

1. Click Setup.
2. Expand Merchandising.
3. Click Reason Codes.
4. To add a new reason code, click New.
5. Enter the following information: ClosedSHOW MORE INFO
  • Code

  • Description

  • Type

  • Start Date

  • End Date

6. To copy an existing reason code, select it and click Copy. You must enter a new Code, but all other values are copied.
7. To edit an existing reason code, select it and click Edit.
8. Click Save And Close.
